The PALSAR image above shows the Oshima Peninsula in Hokkaido. Generally,
fine mode is the most frequently used observation mode with a ground resolution
of up to 7m, which enables detailed observation of the area of interest.
Inside the red lines are gradually enlarged images around Hakodate city,
and Fort Goryokaku has been further enlarged as is indicated inside the
circle. From the Level 1.5 image above, one can clearly recognize the shape
of Fort Goryokaku. The moat forming the pentagonal outline of Goryokaku
is approximately 30m in the maximum width and approximately 1.8 km in circumference.
